Winter Farm Chores

Farm chores in winter, I am learning, are all about getting water to the animals. During the night, all of the water in all of the various drinking containers freezes solid. The lids freeze on the chickens' water dispensers making them difficult to re-fill. The troughs for the donkeys, pigs, and sheep all freeze. The rabbits' bowls: frozen solid.

Much of what we do is haul water. This is hard work. Farmers have it tough in the winter.

Go out and hug a farmer today.
